Total Retail Sales of Consumer Goods Shot up in August:
National Bureau of Statistics of China　2007-09-13 14:24:51 In August, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 711.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.1 percent.

In terms of different regions, the retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas was 485.5 billion yuan, rose by 17.6 percent over the same period of the previous year; that of retail sales at and below the county level achieved 226.1 billion yuan, up by 16.1 percent.
