China: Fast and Stable Economic Growth in the First Half of 2006

According to preliminary estimation, the gross domestic product (GDP) of China in the first half of this year was 9,144.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.9 percent, or 0.9 percentage points higher than that in the same period last year.
