
04/07/2006 - In the OECD area, consumer prices rose by 3.1% in the year to May 2006, compared with 2.7% in the year to April 2006. On a monthly basis, the price level increased by 0.4% between April and May 2006 after a rise by 0.7% between March and April 2006.
Consumer prices for energy rose by 16.5% year-on-year in May compared with 13.1% in April. Consumer prices for food increased by 1.2% year-on-year in May compared with 1.0% in April. Excluding food and energy , consumer prices rose by 2.0% year-on-year in May compared with 1.9% year-on-year in April...etc.
